Essay 30 – Businesses & Social Responsibility (Agree or Disagree)

As well as making money, businesses also have a responsibility towards society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, every business sector has been growing rapidly in the world. I think that the major motives of corporate companies are not only making a profit but also it has certain social commitments.

To begin with, it is the duty of enterprises to produce and deliver their products as per ethics and social norms. To explain, the companies have to ensure that their products have good quality as well as price worthy. Besides, their advertisements neither promote any fake information nor mislead concepts to society. For example, the popular cosmetic brand ‘Fair & Lovely’ reworked their motto since the earlier one was endorsing racism in people.

Additionally, the entrepreneurs have to be socially responsible by ascertaining that their activities are eco-friendly. To expand, the commercial actions of the business should not be initiated unless making an assurance that it is not endangering the existing environment and living organisms. Also, firms should share how they are trying to make a positive impact on the world by which the public can see their pro-social initiatives. For instance, the slogan of the famous cool-drink company ‘Coca-Cola’ is a world without waste.  They have executed a mission to collect and recycle every bottle, making their packaging 100% recyclable and replacing all water used in creating their drinks back to the environment to ensure water security.

To conclude, along with achieving financial benefits, businesses have several responsibilities towards society as it has to be reliable and credible in their works and should be cautious that their tasks and goals are in favour of the ecosystem.
