Listening is the section where you listen to English conversation based on which you answer to the questions given. Even though neutral accent is noticed, American, British and Australian accents are included in this module.

There are four sessions in IELTS listening test. Duration is 30mts along with 10mts to transfer your answers into the answer sheet. Each section carries 10 questions each. Sessions may get harder as they advance. Pace of the talk can be varied as per the accent used it.
HOW YOU CAN ENSURE YOUR SCORE
Candidates should find key word of every question so as to get the correct answer. In order to find at the key words, candidates should make use of the time that they get prior to the listening sections. There is a strategy to read question from (10 to 1) which is proven to be effective to many successful candidates; however, it may not be applicable for everyone. So, frame a tactic to be implemented on the exam day and have to be accustomed to it by continuous practice.
EFFECTIVE TIPS
- Anticipating the answer ahead based on the keywords or examples given is appreciable.
- Hyphenated words and the words with complicated spelling should be learnt thoroughly so as to avoid errors in the answer.
- Candidates should understand the meaning of the talk rather than just focusing on key words as both these factors are equally significant.
- Read instructions thoroughly to know the word limit to find the appropriate answer
- In the fill-in the blank questions, candidate should be particular about the answers.
For eg. …………dollars OR $…………………
Answer should be only in figure if the symbol is given as “dollars” is mentioned in the question.
